Mr. Ranek is the high school choir director and director of the middle school and high school show choirs.

About Me
I grew up in Sioux City, Iowa, where I was involved in everything choir related that I could be. This inspired me to pursue music as my career. I love teaching music here in Altoona. I have been so excited about the growth that the choirs have sustained in the past three years. I hope that I can inspire the next generation of musicians and help all of my students realize that they can be life-long musicians, even if they don't want to do it for their career!
Concert Choir
Concert Choir is an unauditioned choir open to all students at Altoona High School. Simply sign up for the class. Previous choir experience is preferred, but not required.
Chamber Choir
Chamber Choir is an auditioned choir open to students at Altoona High School. Auditions typically occur in the spring of the year for the following fall. Previous high school choir experience is required.
Locomotion showchoir
"Locomotion" is our auditioned, competitive, high school show choir. It is open to all AHS students who are involved in a curricular music course (Band or Choir). For more show choir resources, click the picture!
